George August Xavier Van Dorpe, Jr. M.D., 84, of Aurora, passed away May 18, 2016.

He was born April 11, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of George and Florence (Passmore) Van Dorpe. He was a graduate of St. Ignatius Catholic High School. He attended Loyola School of Medicine. On July 27, 1957 he married Gloria Eilers, of Illinois.

George is survived by his wife, Gloria Van Dorpe; four children, Madonna Van Dorpe, Steven Van Dorpe, George August Xavier (Alexis) Van Dorpe IV, and Madelynne (Gary Burns) Bush; nine grandchildren, Jessica Sparks, Jaqueline (Christopher Flanagan) Sparks, James (Kori) Brewer, George August Xavier Van Dorpe V, Theodore Van Dorpe, Madison Van Dorpe, Tyler Bush, Melissa Bush, and Natalie Bush; eight great-grandchildren, Elena Sparks, Riley Martin, Landon Martin, Stephen Brewer, Joshua Brewer, Jonny Brewer, Benjamin Brewer, and Ethan Brewer. He is preceded in death by his son, George August Xavier Van Dorpe III; granddaughter, Joslyn N. Van Dorpe; parents, George August Xavier Van Dorpe Sr. and Florence Lily Van Dorpe; sisters, Grace Carlton, Helen McCarty and Florence Provenza; and brother, Daniel Van Dorpe.
