3/23/1926 – 6/15/2016

Valentina Kopiloff of Lakewood, passed away June 15, 2016 at the Lutheran/Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, Co.

She was born March 23, 1926 in Tula, Russia, the daughter of Ivan and Maria Kondakoff.

After surviving World War II, Valentina immigrated with her husband Peter and daughter, Nina to the United States of America via the USS General Greely docking in New Orleans, Louisiana, and departing the ship November 7, 1951. She settled in Colorado (Globeville) with her family and was a longtime parishioner of the Holy Transfiguration of Christ Orthodox Cathedral in Denver since 1951.

Valentina worked for many years at Miller’s Bakery then became a real estate broker and owned her own company, Globe Professional Realty.

Valentina will be remembered for her green thumb. Anything she planted grew and flourished, be it flower or vegetable gardens. She had over hundreds of roses and flowers. Her family and friends will most remember her excellent Russian cooking. Even with her busy schedule, Valentina would always make time to help family and friends at their time of need. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
