Ed served in the U.S. Navy and later pursued a golf career until 1949. He met and married the love of his life, Angeline (Angie) Ruffo, a registered nurse, on November 18, 1950.
They relocated to Aurora, Colorado, where Ed earned his B.A. and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Denver. Ed lettered in golf for University of Denver’s golf team where he won several Medalist Honors. After finishing college, Ed taught and coached basketball at Breckenridge High School. They later settled in Aurora where they raised their growing family. After teaching and coaching at Sable, Ed left the school system in 1960 to work for Kraft Foods where he worked as a sales executive for 26 years until his retirement.
Ed was a long term parishioner at St Therese church and active member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ed will always be remembered for his outstanding golf accomplishments. After many city and state golf championships Ed was honored by being inducted into the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame in 2005.
Ed kept busy in his later years by working for Springhill Golf Course. His passion for golf was contagious, and he delighted in mentoring beginners to seasoned golfers, anyone who shared his heart for the game.
Ed's joy and talent for golf is an enduring family legacy exemplified in his values of hard work, determination, sportsmanship, and service to others.
