Brian Andrew Ipsen, 55, of Aurora, passed away October 16, 2016 after a long battle with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.

He was born May 7, 1961 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Ben and Josephine (Phelan) Ipsen.

He was a graduate of East High School. He graduated from the University of Colorado - Denver, receiving his Bachelors Degree in Counseling.

On October 24, 1998, he married Cynthia Hernandez after a long courtship.

Brian was a member of Boy Scouts of America. He volunteered as a Counselor in the jails. He also would help at AA Meetings.

Brian was active with a photography group through his work. He loved photography and was an accomplished photographer. Brian was also a history buff, knowing Colorado history and Denver's history inside and out. He loved to travel. Brian also loved to watch videos of people working in their workshops creating items. He also enjoyed flowers, taking time to smell each one during walks with Cynthia. Brian also had a deep appreciation for art, making trips to the art museum. He loved to play his guitars. Brian also loved gazing at the stars, especially out in Ovid where the skies are clearer. He also enjoyed the outdoors and hiking and previously enjoyed rock climbing and skiing. Above all, Brian enjoyed spending time with his family.

Brian is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Cynthia Ipsen; Two Sons, Joshua Adam (Irma Moreno) Hernandez-Ipsen and Christopher DeHerrera; Two Grandchildren, Eli and Caleb; Two Brothers, Stephen J. (Michelle) Ipsen and Dennis A. (Carolyn) Ipsen; Sister, Marilyn F. Walters; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; Father-in-law, John G. Hernandez and Mother-in-law, Sara Hernandez.

He is preceded in death by Parents, Ben and Josephine Ipsen and two sisters, Karen Berkhofer and Janet Jordan.
