Mary J. Shepperd , 82, of Lakewood, passed away March 15, 2017.

She was born August 9, 1934 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, the daughter of Manuel and Benita (Velasques) Martinez.

Mary was a faithful member of Trinity Christian Fellowship in Northglenn.

Faith in Jesus Christ was most important to Mary. She also ministered to people even at the end of her life with those around her. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She always enjoyed any activities that included her family such as going to church and eating out. She was also a fantastic cook and saw cooking as an extension of the love she had for her family.

Mary is survived by Eight children, Donna S. (Richard) Maes, Linda Ramirez, Tony (Miriam) Ramirez, Ida (Michael Medina) Ramirez-Medina, Daniel Ramirez, Michael (Lesa) Ramirez, Katrina Ramirez and Michelle Ramirez; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 5 brothers and sisters, Louie Martinez, Phil Martinez, Helen Barbero, Connie Smith and Mary Lou Martinez and Many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by Father, Manuel Martinez; Mother, Benita Martinez and Two Brothers, Henry Martinez and Charlie Martinez.
