Iona Rhodig obituary: Iona Rhodig's Obituary, Denver
In Memory Of
Iona I. Rhodig
1920 - 2017
In Memory Of
Iona I. Rhodig
1920 - 2017
She was born May 28, 1920, in Craig, Colorado, the daughter of George and Lennie (Chance) Bashaw.
She was a graduate of Ft. Collins High School.
On June 20, 1941, she married Harvey Rhodig in Loveland, Colorado.
Iona attended Calvary Temple and then Grace Chapel for many years.
Iona enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching the news and working crossword puzzles. She loved to rock babies. When Iona was younger, she loved to watch baseball. She also enjoyed writing and was hoping to write something worthwhile for her family. She accomplished this by writing her life story that her family now cherishes. Her greatest accomplishment was raising four daughters who still serve the Lord.
Iona is survived by four daughters, Carol (Richard) Duree, Penny (David) Caughey, Kathie (the late Dennis) Buck and Mary Sue (Tollef) Johnson; nine grandchildren, David (Shelli) Duree, Jonathon (Christine) Duree, Rebecca (Mark) Miller, Christopher (Tiffany) Caughey, Matthew (Jessica) Caughey, Stephanie (Gene) Barlow, Keith (Amanda) Buck, Rachel Johnson and Christy Johnson; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Shaw; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Harvey E. Rhodig; her father, George Albert Bashaw; her mother, Lennie Bashaw; three brothers, Donald Bashaw, Carson Bashaw and Phillip Bashaw.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Iona's memory to PAAV International Ministries, 9005 E. Lehigh Street #40, Denver, CO 80237.
