Henrietta B. Rees, 101, of Centennial, passed away June 15, 2017 at Someren Glen in Centennial, Colorado.

She was born July 6, 1915 in Sutherland, Nebraska, the daughter of Frederick and Bess Bouker (Bliss) Briggs.

She was a graduate of Sutherland High School in Sutherland, Nebraska. She then attended college in Denver for a year.

Henrietta was first married to John Donald Smith. He passed away in 1971. She was later married to Howard Rees. He also passed away.

Henrietta was a former member of the Red Hat Society. She was a volunteer at Aurora Medical Center - North in various areas. She also volunteered with the Colorado Republicans. While Henrietta worked at Arapahoe County Court, she would volunteer with various organizations associated with the court. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Henrietta's greatest interest was her family. Her hobby is baking, of which she was very proficient at making wonderful cookies and candies of various types for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Henrietta is survived by three children, John Carrington (Jacqueline) Smith, Loren B. (Valerie) Rees and Susan Overman; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Olsen, Sonya Hill, Melanie Hart, Jennifer Moore, Justin Smith, Zac Smith, Ryan Smith and Trevor Smith; ten great-grandchildren, Sean Moore, Juliette Moore, Alyssa Smith, Alexa Smith, Bryn Smith, Atticus Smith, Tayler Hart, Mason Hart, Olivia Hart and Emma Hill; and many nieces and nephews including Gifford Leu and many extended family members.

She is preceded in death by father, Frederick Felton Briggs; mother, Bess Bouker Briggs; sister, Marion Leu; brother, Frederick Briggs and nephew, Douglas Leu.

The family will be interring Henrietta's ashes at the Sutherland Cemetery in Sutherland, Nebraska at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Henrietta's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
