Shane Vernon Greenwood, 49, of Aurora, passed away June 18, 2017 from a rare form of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

He was born July 10, 1967 in Pierre, South Dakota, the son of Ronald Purkapile and Susanne Kirley. He was a graduate of Perry High School in Perry, Iowa and Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. On November 26, 2005 he married Maria Carmen Greenwood, of Aurora, Colorado.

Shane loved spending time with his family and traveling. He was loving, sweet, caring, responsible, hardworking, kind, intelligent, and calm. He was a very doting daddy. Tamsin was the light of his life. He had a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor and loved to tease his siblings, nieces and nephews. Shane was passionate about his work as an Audit Group Manager for the State of Colorado. His love of computers and all things techy began in the early 80s when he taught himself on a Commodore 64. He had an extensive collection of comics and sci fi books. He enjoyed watching many sports but mostly the Iowa Hawkeyes, the St Louis Cardinals and the Denver Broncos.

Shane is survived by his wife, Carmen Greenwood; daughter, Tamsin Stephanie Greenwood; mother, Susanne Kirley; two sisters, Rashel (Julian) Hinchliffe and Erika (Brad) Bruns; five brothers, Cody Greenwood, Aaron Greenwood, Mark (Deb) Chilstrom, Jason (Katrina) Purkapile, and Jordan Purkapile. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Loren Purkapile; his grandparents, John and Beulah Kirley as well as many other beloved family members.

In lieu of flowers please send contributions to Tamsin Greenwood's Trust. Contributions can be made at any Credit Union of Colorado location or sent to Rashel Hinchliffe at 8762 Greengrass Way, Parker, CO 80134. Shane would also appreciate blood donations given to Bonfils Blood Center in his name.
