Gary Lee Pederson, 65, of Highlands Ranch, passed away in his home June 19, 2017, after a courageous 10 month battle with Lung Cancer.

He was born February 4, 1952 at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, the son of Howard and Mary Alice (Klaren) Pederson. He was a graduate of the Izmir American Dependent High School in Izmir, Turkey and Long Beach State University in California, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He married Barbara Eaton in July of 1997.

Gary is survived by his wife, Barbara Eaton; mother, Mary Alice (Klaren) Pederson; and sister, Cheryl (Arnie Silacci) Pederson-Silacci. He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Wendell Pederson and brothers, Ronald Pederson and Michael Pederson.

Gary was a 35 year resident of Colorado, also living in California, Arizona and Turkey. Gary’s profession was in the financial/insurance industry, including car leasing, financial planning and health/life insurance.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the natural beauty of Colorado; it brought him joy to live here. Gary took much pride in his home and was known for being very meticulous with his lawn. Gary could have conversations on any topic, as he could remember almost everything he learned. Gary’s passions were rock and ice climbing, mountain biking, hiking, camping, sailing, scuba diving and skiing. He also had a love for animals, especially dogs; there were several waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge.

Gary was a loving husband, good friend and blessed with lifelong friendships, he will be missed; the memories each of us have will be forever dear in our hearts.

Gary’s Celebration of Life gathering is being planned for late July, early August.
