Jose I. Gallegos , 83, of Westminster, passed away July 15, 2017.

He was born December 14, 1933 in Questa, New Mexico, the son of Nick and Anita (Vilapando) Gallegos.

He graduated High School in Rock Springs, WY.

On May 6, 1956, he married Virginia Lovato.

He honorably served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Local #17. Jose was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in North Denver.

Jose enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time in the mountains. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycles and would take frequent rides through the mountains. He was also very devoted to his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Jose is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Virginia Gallegos; two sons, Paul Gallegos and Joseph Gallegos; three grandchildren, Joseph (Claudette) Gallegos, Cheryl Gallegos and Angela Gallegos; six great-grandchildren, Athena Gallegos, Danazha Maestas, Sebastian Montano, Aaliyah Gallegos, Cairo Gallegos, Cosmo Gallegos and one great-grandchild on the way; sister, Madeline Boyer; three brothers, Aaron Gallegos, Albert Gallegos and George (Laura) Gallegos and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

He is preceded in death by father, Nick Gallegos; mother, Anita Gallegos and son, Jerald Gallegos.
