In Memory Of
Wilma Jean "Honey" Harned
1923 - 2017

In loving memory of Wilma Jean “Honey” Harned. Born June 14th, 1923 in McRae, Arkansas. She passed away December 7, 2017 in Centennial, Colorado. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend.
She is survived by her son, Tom Harned (wife Joan), her daughter Barbara Harmes, and two grandsons, Corey (wife Catherine) and Jeffrey “JT” (wife Lee Ann). She was also very blessed with 9 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-great Grandchildren.

Honey was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband Edwin C. “Papa” Harned who passed away May 8, 2017. She is now reunited in Heaven for eternity with the love of her life. They shared a life and love that was beautiful and amazing. They were the very core of all that we are as a family.

Honey moved to Denver from Arkansas as a child. She attended South High School. She also studied art, fashion and clothing design at the University of Colorado. She was one of the founding management staff of John Robert Powers Modeling Agency and Modeling School in Denver. Honey had a very successful career as a model herself. She modeled Designer fashions for Montaldo’s, Neusteter’s and The Denver Dry Goods Store for more than ten years. When she retired from modeling she continued to teach at the Powers Agency and commentated many fashion shows for Montaldo’s, Neusteter’s and various charity fashion shows throughout the state of Colorado. She also served as a consultant for the Miss Colorado Beauty Pageant as makeup artist and fashion advisor. Her teaching career was what she enjoyed the most and was most proud of regarding her professional career. She felt blessed to be able to mentor young women to be the best they could be and prepared them for what their lives held in store.

Honey lived an absolutely wonderful, love filled 94 years, and she touched so many people throughout her life, in the ways only she could do. It was truly a blessing to have her in all of our lives.
Donations are suggested in Wilma’s memory to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
