Jim graduated from Kanorado High School in 1963 and lived on the family farm in Kanorado until he served in the U. S. Army Reserve. After that, he moved to Denver, Colorado to pursue further education in beauty school and then electronics. Later, he worked as a service technician for Sears and Roebuck for 37 years.
