She was born to the late Lawrence and Katie Pemberton March 6, 1949 in Simla, CO.
June graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1967 and completed her bookkeeping certification in 1969. She married Franc (Gene) Reed in 1969 and they lived in Denver CO., Salt Lake City UT., and Aurora CO.
June was a bookkeeper most of her professional life until she retired in 1995. Later, she would assist with childcare for her beloved grandchildren.
June was very active in the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans, serving as the chapter Commander for one year, and E Troop in the 3rd Squadron 5th Calvary Regiment. June loved attending the meetings/reunions, participating in Americanism days, and other special events. She enjoyed helping others and devoting her time to these organizations. She also enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and mountain drives, bingo and gaming, and traveling to visit her family and friends in various states.
June is survived by her husband Franc of Aurora; children Terri Sanchez (Ruben) of Denver, and William Reed (Shawn) of Aurora and by grandchildren: Steven, Sean, and Samantha Sanchez; Lyndsee and Lauren Reed. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Alice Taylor (George) of PA, Ray Pemberton (Connie) of CO, David Pemberton of CO, Kathy Mitchell (Mark) of LA, Betty McQuinn of NE, Sharon Lagarde (Ray) of NM, Eileen Tegels of SD, Fred Pemberton (Jonna) of CO, and Gene Pemberton of CO and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Katie Pemberton and brothers LeRoy and James Pemberton.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Colorado chapter of the American Heart Association, 1777 S. Harrison St, Suite 500 Denver, CO 80210.
