Betty J. Hashberger
1922 - 2015

Betty Jane (Bates) Hashberger, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 25, 2015 in Centennial, Colorado. She was born on December 5, 1922, the sixth of nine children to Joseph Wheeler Bates and Ida May (Burnett) Bates in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She grew up in New Smyrna Beach and graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School with the class of 1941. After graduation she met Ralph Addison Hashberger of Englewood, Colorado, who was stationed at the local Coast Guard Station, and they were married on May 25, 1942 in New Smyrna Beach.

Following the end of World War II and Ralph's discharge from military service, Betty and Ralph moved to the Englewood and then the Littleton areas where they raised their three children. While primarily staying home to raise her children, Betty was employed by the J.C. Penny company at various times until the children were grown.

She was a long time member of Littleton Baptist Church where she was faithful to God's work.

Betty was a faithful and loving wife to Ralph for 54 years, who predeceased her in 1996. Besides Ralph and her parents and all but one sibling, Betty was predeceased by her son Stephen Lee Hashberger in 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Kay Barath of Centennial, her son Jeffrey Ralph Hashberger (Rose Wedow) of Longmont, her brother, Clermont Robert Bates (Mary Gilbert) of Pendergrass, Georgia, and four grandchildren; Brian, Amy, Lindsay and Nathan.
