Irvina Judine Kucera
May 25, 1927 - August 1, 2015

Born of a German mother, Dorothea Augusta Welty, and an Irish father, Irvin McCauley, Irvina had a wonderful wit, she was very psychic and also quite stubborn. Did we mention she was feisty? She often said "If I'd known I would live so long I'd have taken better care of myself", yet she lived to the ripe old age of 88.

Irvina was quite a woman. She was a singer, poet and the mother of five children; Barbara Pals, Suzanne Alexander, Dianne Ashcraft, Douglas Hardy, and Janine Nazzise, who are very sore of heart to see her leave. It wasn't unusual to hear her singing two-part harmony with one of her children or practicing in a Sweet Adeline's quartet.

Irvina had many loves and several husbands including Fred Hardy and Louis Kucera. Her half brother Leland Welty preceded her in passing by six days as did her part time guardian angel John "Bud" Hjort. She has two half-brothers Irvin McCauley and Gary McCauley and a half-sister Kathy Manuel, along with many nieces and nephews.

Irvina's grandchildren Aaron McPhail, Eric McPhail, India Hamlin, Alexa Monroe, Nicole Martin, Jason Uecker, Joshua Uecker, Sera Hardy, Brandon Nazzise and Michelle Tayloe will miss her.

Irvina passed on a Blue Moon, so we thought she was telling us the words to the song Blue Moon would be a nice memorial.

Blue Moon
"Blue Moon you saw me standing alone, without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own.

Blue Moon, you knew just what I was there for, you heard me saying a prayer for, someone I really could care for.

And then there suddenly appeared before me, the only one my arms would ever hold. I heard somebody whisper, "please adore me", and when I looked the moon had turned to Gold.

Blue Moon, now I'm no longer alone, without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own." - 1934 by Rogers & Heart
