Richard Lee Osborn
1945 - 2015

Richard Lee Osborn, 70, of Denver, passed away suddenly on August 20, 2015.

Richard was born June 3, 1945, in Longmont, Colorado, the son of James and Mary Osborn. He was a loving and loyal husband to Marcie (McPhee) Osborn for 39 years; kind and attentive father and friend to Elizabeth Alice (Osborn) Johnson and her husband, Bill Johnson.

Richard loved trains and worked for the railroad for a short time. He served his country in the Navy, during the Vietnam conflict as a radio mechanic attaining the rank of ETN2. Once out of the military he was a lineman for Mountain Bell, where he met his wife, Marcie. He constantly furthered his education and eventually worked for Oppenheimer Funds as Internet Security; from which he retired with many friends and good memories.

He was a proud Colorado native who loved the mountains and enjoyed exploring our beautiful state. His hobbies included astronomy, photography, drawing, and ham radio just to name a few. He was a railroad and history buff and went on many adventures taking photos of ghost towns and rail engines. Lee, as he was known by all his friends and family; was gregarious with a quick-witted off the wall sense of humor. An easy-going individual by nature; will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marcie (McPhee) Osborn, his father, James Osborn, and his mother, Mary Osborn.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Osborn) Johnson and son in law, Bill Johnson; his two brothers, Ron Osborn and Dennis Osborn, as well as brother and sister in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
