“So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice and no one will take away your joy.” – John 16:22

Lisa was born on October 7th, 1965 to Wayne and Greta Nickerson in Boston Massachusetts. A year later, her sister Kimberly was born. From that moment, they were not only sisters but best friends. In 1980 her family moved to Colorado where she resided for the rest of her life.

Lisa graduated from Littleton High School in 1983. After graduation Lisa enjoyed traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with her family and friends. In 1992 husband Daniel Shew and Lisa welcomed their daughter Sydney into the world. After becoming parents, Lisa and Daniel purchased a home in Aurora, Colorado, and Lisa threw all her energy into raising their daughter.

She returned to school and graduated with a degree in computer information systems, and while working as the office manager at ReMax DTC, she used her skills to start American Pest Control Company with her husband Anthony Sanchez in 2001. Lisa purchased her lifetime home in Commerce City, Colorado in 2003.

Lisa had many dreams and traits about her, but her most accomplished title was becoming a grandmother to Coralena in 2011. In 2012 Lisa retired from American Pest Control Company to pursue her dream of tending her home, and spending time playing, and teaching Coralena. In 2013 Lisa purchased a ranch in southern Colorado with the dream of building a home, and waking up to the views of the beautiful Colorado Mountains.

Lisa was also born with the bravest and kindest of hearts. Lisa not only battled cancer once, but three times over a seven year period. She never once complained or feared taking this challenge head on. In fact, each time she was faced with the challenge, she was the first one into the doctor’s appointment to find a new plan for recovery. She supported many along her journey, with bringing snacks to the nurses, holding her peer’s hands through their chemo treatments, and always giving them the hope they needed. No matter what life threw at her, she was not going to let cancer win!

Lisa enjoyed many things; some of her favorite hobbies were gardening, cooking, traveling, swimming, hiking, painting, knitting, and trout fishing. But what she loved most was taking care of her family.

Lisa Michelle Sanchez was welcomed into heaven on September 11th, 2015. She is survived by her husband Anthony, daughter Sydney, granddaughter Coralena, parents Wayne and Phyllis Nickerson, Tom and Greta Rees, sister Kim and brother-in-law Noel Hamilton, nieces Jessica and Morgan Hamilton, nephew Jackson Hamilton, great nieces Carly and Cady Turner, the Shew family, along with all of her loving extended family and friends.

If you wish to send flowers, please send them to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church at 11500 E. Iliff Ave. Aurora, CO 80014

She leaves us rich in memories. Lisa’s memory will remain with us as her company continues to grow and thrive, and the plans for her ranch will also be continued. Her memory will guide granddaughter and family into the future.
