In Memory Of
Christina L. "Auntie Teence" Brungardt
1981 - 2016

Christina Louise Brungardt, 34, of Denver Colorado, went to heaven on the wings of angles, Saturday, January 30th at 7am. She waited for one more sunrise, before taking her last breath. She lost her battle to complications of cerebral palsy.

She was born, September 14, 1981 to Michael and Teresa Brungardt after a long and difficult labor. She attended the Cerebral Palsy Center from infancy through preschool, moved on to Columbian elementary for a year before finishing elementary school at Sabin in Harvey Park South. Her Middle school education was at Hamilton, moving on to, and graduating from, Thomas Jefferson High School in 2002. While at Thomas Jefferson, she got to experience the first inclusion experience at that school when she and her peers were the first group of Special Education students to attend the Prom, complete with fancy dinner out and a limo ride to the dance.

Christina remained home with her family, attending day program 4 days a week at Laradon. She lived for those daily rides on the Access-a-ride to see her friends and caregivers at Laradon. She spent Fridays with Grandpa Raleigh and Grandma Dorothy. The evenings and weekends were spent with her Mom Terry, Step-dad Doug and Nephew Dominic whom she adored. Her favorite things were, family, friends, Bronco football, holidays (especially Halloween and Christmas), and music (especially country). Her favorite colors were pink and purple but she sported her Bronco’s colors every Friday and on game days. Up until three years ago, she loved to eat, especially yogurt, chocolate and spicy foods. She was a clothes horse and looked forward to shopping for new clothes every season. Her favorite clothing item was her converse tennis shoes, the wilder color the better. She was an incorrigible flirt when it came to men and boys. She took a while to warm up to you but once she did, she freely shared her heart melting smile. Christina had a generous soul and the patience of Jobe, but she didn’t like intolerance or hatefulness. She firmly believed that everybody regardless of their faults was simply doing the best they could.
Christina is survived by her Mom Terry and Step-dad Doug of Denver; her Sister Melissa and Nephew Dominic of Arvada; her Brother Jonathan of Sterling; her maternal grandparents Roland and Dorothy Sauvé of Denver, paternal grandparents Larry and Maetta Brungardt of Denver; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Michael Brungardt.
