In Memory Of
Vivian M. Meyer
1930 - 2017

Vivian Meyer was born on April 12, 1930 in Goessel, Kansas. She was raised in a Christian home by Anna and Albert Schmidt. She grew up on the farm with her three sisters; Salome, Norma Jean and Arlene. They attended Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.

After graduating from High School she attended Bethel College for two years and then transferred to Emporia Teaching College where she graduated with her teaching degree. Vivian’s first teaching job was in a one-room school house in Kansas where she had to stoke the coals to prepare the classroom. She also had a wonderful opportunity to teach school for two years in Germany. She taught at Belmar Elementary for 27 years.

Vivian met Donald in Leadville, CO and they were married on November 23, 1958. They have three children; Karen (Stevens), Kristine, and David. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to Luke and Rachel. She also enjoyed being in LWML and Life Light at Bethlehem. Some of her favorite activities were gardening, cooking, and she made the best cherry pie!

We were blessed to have her in our lives and we are rejoicing that she entered the Kingdom of Heaven at the age of 87, on October 2, 2017.

Memorials can be sent to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lakewood, CO.
