JoAnn Byrne
1966 - 2017

JoAnn C. Byrne of Denver, Colorado passed away due to medical complications on Sunday,
December 3, 2017 at the age of 51. While her passing was unexpected, she was surrounded
by friends and family when she departed this life.

JoAnn is survived by her children, Arabella Byrne, Storm Cone and Rya Rayne Toms of Aurora,
Colorado. She was preceded by her parents John C. Byrne and Elizabeth L. Dorman of
Pennsylvania.

JoAnn was an amazing woman. Her life was marked by her kindness and strength. One simply
had to spend a few minutes with her to know her tremendous spirit. Family and friends relied
upon her for emotional support and she never hesitated to give it. She spent her entire life
caring for others, seldom asking for care in return. Always stoic, never complaining.

JoAnn was also well known for her seemingly endless reservoir of knowledge. From major world
events to little known facts it seemed she knew everything about anything. If you had a
question, she had the answer. And if for some strange reason she didn't immediately know the
answer, she would simply say, โ€œDon't worry, we'll figure it out.โ€ Without her, many of us will
literally be lost.

JoAnn was very active in the convention circuit... volunteering her time and energy year
after year to spread her love of fantasy, science fiction, and all things supernatural. She
introduced her children to worlds where their imagination could soar, and as a result, they
have.

Above all else, she was a mom. She adored her children, showing them in her every action
that kindness, understanding and love can change the world.

A celebration of JoAnn's life is planned for Sunday, December 10, 2017 starting at 1:30pm at
the Irish Snug, 1201 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80218.
