William “Bill” Milton Mitchell Jr., 68 of Aurora, Colorado, returned to his heavenly home on
February 5, 2018.

Bill was born August 5, 1949 in Los Angeles, California to William and Betty (Ziemer) Mitchell. He attended South High School where he played trumpet in the band, was an Air Scout, member of Junior Achievers of America and had a paper route from the age of 12 until he graduated in 1967. After high school, he joined the Air Force in 1968 and was trained as a baker at his first assignment at Edwards Air Force Base in Lancaster, CA. He was sent to Cam Ranh Bay Vietnam and later stationed at Lowry Air Field in Denver, CO, where he met his bride
Judy Fosse. They married in 1972, the same year he was honorably discharged. After serving in the Air Force, he worked at Sir Richards Furniture in Englewood, CO selling, delivering and repairing furniture. From 1973-1990 he worked for General Air Service & Supply delivering to many areas of CO and later becoming a store manager. In 1990 he started with Shamrock Foods where he worked and retired after 25 years.

Bill loved animals and as a child would always bring strays home, begging to keep them. Bill
was very active in his children’s lives. He coached soccer and was a leader of both boy and cub
Scouts. He took his family on numerous camping trips and was famous for attempting to put up
tents in the dark. His smile and laugh were infectious and he could always be counted on for a
great big bear hug.

Bill’s faith and church were the center of his life, guiding him daily. He was married at Burns Memorial United Methodist Church and raised his family to love and know God. His children and all 4 grandchildren were baptized in the same church. He helped with youth group, Sunday school, bible study and the Men’s group, as well as becoming a Lay Leader of the church.

Bill is survived by his wife Judy; 3 children, Brian (Denise) and Michael (Courtnee); &
Stephanie; 4 grandchildren, Kelsey, Gavin, Beau & Hadley; all living in Colorado.
Mother, Betty Mitchell; sister, Sherri Waterman (Bill); brother, Scott Mitchell (Dawn); all living in
California. Sister, Marilee Letts (Jim); living in Arizona. As well as numerous nieces and
nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, brother, Bob and daughter, Jennifer.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Burns Memorial United Methodist Church.

A private burial for the immediate family will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Services
will be held at Burns Memorial United Methodist Church on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:30am with a reception to follow.
