Robert Andres Lucas

Littleton, Colorado

Robert Andres Lucas, 90, of Littleton, CO passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. He was born in Denver, CO on June 15, 1928 to Roy Otto Lucas and Margret E. Shirkey. As a child Bob helped his father in the newspaper business by delivering papers. After high school graduation, he continued in that vocation and became a District Manager for The Denver Post. After a short time working in real estate, he returned to the newspaper business and retired from The Rocky Mountain News. Bob enjoyed countless days fishing, camping, boating and being in the outdoors. In retirement, he was passionate about traveling and cruising the high seas. He had a special bond with canine friends and sweet treats. Also, Bob had a strong appreciation for music, dancing, time with family and friends, and always loved a good laugh.
Robert is survived by his daughter Judy (Lucas) Weisenstein, son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Jennifer (Brian) Petersen, great-grandsons Brett and Evan, granddaughter Sheryl (Ken) Mikuska, great-grandson Owen, and sister Lee Dymond. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is remembered fondly by his wife of 15 years, Margaret Hill-Lucas of Arvada, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife Jacqueline Lucas and son Robert James Lucas.
Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home Saturday, July 14th at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Denver Dumb Friends League.
