In Memory Of
Bernard L. Lowery
1956 - 2018
Bernie was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, papa, and a great friend. Bernie was absolutely one of a kind; his personality sparkled in a room. He was a shining example and the essence of a great “girl dad.” He was always so sensitive and caring and knew the right thing to say to all of his five daughters. His best friend was his wife, Deb. Deb and Bernie treasured their 40 years of marriage daily. They enjoyed spending time together above all.
Bernie helped many people as a Respiratory Therapist for over 35 years and was always an advocate for his patients and their families. He was a great teacher and acted as a mentor for many coworkers through his years at University Hospital.
Bernie was known to notice the small things in life. Whether it was a bird sitting on the fence or the sunset on a warm summer day, he noticed and stopped to appreciate the beauty of life. He enjoyed boating, going to Lake Powell and Arizona, listening to his favorite music, good food, watching bull riding, and mostly spending time with his family. He loved to laugh, joke, and have a good time. His special sense of humor will always be treasured in all of our memories. He will be missed tremendously, but know he is in a far better place and out of pain now.
You are going home
Once again going home
Leaving this earthbound existence behind
Ready to soar again
Outside of space and time
You are going home
Riding on the wide wings
Of comforting sleep
Leaving your essence free
To roam far away
And yet so close
You are going home
To remember
All that you are
Have always been
And always will be
You are going home
Once again home
