Sandra Carol Guffy
1956 - 2018

Sandra Carol Guffy of Thornton, passed away on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018, after a long, courageous, and inspirational life. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Sandy's parents Dr. Albert W. Heyer, and Ida Jane Heyer, moved to Colorado with their daughter and two sons when Sandy was just four months old.

Sandy attended Arvada High School, where she met her best friend of 46 years, Vicki Deitchel. During that time, Sandy loved to spend her free time skiing and reading. The most important part of Sandy's life was being a mom for her children. Sandy was an amazing mother, always looking forward to watching her children compete in sports and advance through school while being there for them each step of the way. It was not uncommon for Sandy to give everything for her children to be happy. Sandy also loved cooking, playing with kitties and spending time with her friends and family.

Sandy worked as an accountant and owned her own business alongside her husband for over 40 years, during which she was always helping people in need.

Sandy is survived by her husband Scott; children, Tami and David; brothers, Albert W. Heyer and Donald F. Heyer; grandchildren, Parker and McKenna.

The service to honor and celebrate Sandy's life will be held on Tuesday, September 18th at 10 am at Newcomer, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO with a viewing starting at 9 am. Reception to immediately follow services. The burial will be held at 1:30 pm at Fairmount Cemetery, 430 S S Quebec St., Denver, CO.

Given Sandy's love for animals and kittens we are asking in lieu of flowers, donations can be made by visting, http://support.ddfl.org/site/TR/PersonalFundraising/PFmemorial?px=2143945&pg=personal&fr_id=1380
