Mary S. Lucas (Mary Lou), 84, passed Monday September 10, 2018. She was the daughter of Mildred and Richard Stack, born March 22, 1934 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mary graduated from McKinley High School in St. Louis, MO.in 1952 and relocated with her mother to Denver, CO. Mary worked at Western Electric in Denver where she met Lee Reed Lucas….they were married July 11, 1953.

Mary worked in Denver in the burgeoning petroleum industry. Mary worked with Sinclair Oil and then Independent oilmen involved in exploration and production in Libya in the early 1960’s. Mary also worked for Occidental Petroleum, Tenneco Oil Co., and Arapahoe Oil Co.in the Land Departments until she retired in 1994.

Mary loved to cook …and made the best Southern Fried Chicken and delicious Chile Rellenos. She became very involved in doing Genealogy Research …which led to connecting with some long lost relatives.

Mary is survived by three children: Lee R Lucas of Centennial, Co., Bridgett A McDonald of Monument, Co., and Michael J. Lucas of Littleton, Co. She is also survived by five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Richard, husband Lee Reed Lucas.

Funeral Mass Service will be held at St Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial, Colorado, 11:00-12:00 pm on Wednesday September 19, 2018. A reception will follow at the church12:00-2:00pm. Interment will follow at Littleton Cemetery, 6155 So. Prince St., Littleton, Co.
