Joe Bryan Stewart, 91, formerly of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away September 26, 2018.

He was born October 7, 1926 in Pearl River County, Mississippi, the son of George and Lucy (Walker) Stewart.

Joe honorably served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

On November 25, 1948, he married Betty Burnside.

Joe was a member of the Rocket Shrine in Alamogordo, NM. He was also a Mason in Alamogordo, NM. Joe was a very proud life member of the NRA.

Joe was extremely proud of his Scottish heritage. He loved to ride his Harley motorcycle. Joe was also very proud of his Southern roots, his upbringing and his family. He was dedicated to his work in the construction industry. He was also involved in fundraising for the Shriners to support the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Above all, he dearly loved his family, especially his granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Joe is survived by daughter, JoNell "Jody" K. (Steve) Troop; son, Bryan Rand (Robin) Stewart; two grandchildren, Shannon (Drew) Williams, and Jessica Stewart; great-grandchildren, Harper Williams and Gavin Williams; three brothers, Densel (Elizabeth) Stewart, Horace (Johnnie Sue) Stewart and Garvis Stewart; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty B. Stewart; father, George W. Stewart; mother, Lucy Stewart; brother, Paul Stewart; three sisters, Pauline Smith, Lucille Bilbo and Jocelyn Beasley and 2 siblings that died in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe's name may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
