1958 - 2018

Karen Marie Kelly Stanek, 60, of Littleton, CO passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.

Karen was born on February 9, 1958 in Denver, Colorado to parents Pat and Jackie (Huskins) Kelly. She grew up in Denver, big sister to Mick and Pat Kelly. She married Don Stanek on June 25, 1977 and together they shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. Together with Don, she had three children and was an amazing mom to Brian, Danielle and Trevor. Later in her life she was a fabulous “Nana” to two grandsons; Kaiden and Landon.

She was a kind and amazing person who loved life. She enjoyed spending time with those that she cared about, especially her family. She loved the holidays and whenever family would get together. Decorating for Christmas was perhaps her specialty, her tree covered in ornaments, many either icicles or those she would get on family trips to Georgetown, CO. She loved Denver sports and going to games, especially the Avalanche and Rockies. She also treasured spending days by the pool in the summer, going to breakfast with her parents, and doing Sudoku puzzles. She cherished her long hot bubble baths and a nice glass of wine.

She worked for many years in both home childcare and later in the mortgage industry, forming close friendships with many of those that she worked with.

She is survived by her husband Don Stanek, her parents Pat and Jackie Kelly, her brother Mick Kelly and his wife Patty, her children Brian Stanek and his wife Jessica, Danielle Stanek and Trevor Stanek, as well as her grandchildren Kaiden and Landon Stanek. She is also survived by numerous extended family members including her aunt, uncle, cousins, nephews, nieces, Don’s brothers, sister and spouses.

Karen is preceded in death by her brother Patrick Kelly.

Please join the family in celebrating Karen’s life.

May the deepest, sweetest sleep always find you."
(Anna Taylor)

"Serenity Prayer"
"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it. Trusting He will make all things right if I surrender to His will, that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen."
