In Memory Of
George B. Wright, Jr.
1940 - 2018
After attending Baylor University and Texas University, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, than, joined the United States Air Force in 1965, serving as a Communications Officer; obtaining the rank of Captain. After serving four years, he then went to work for Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas. In 1985, George, his wife and three daughters moved to Aurora, Colorado where he worked for Lucent Technologies, whom he retired from in the late 1990s.
He had a love for sports, was a radio ham (amateur radio operator) in high school, and played baseball while attending Baylor University. He also enjoyed taking road trips to see family and the beautiful Colorado scenery. Specifically, he and Sandra visited Estes Park as often as they could to explore the town and Rocky Mountain National Park.
He loved his family dearly and was a great Son, Brother, Husband, Father, and Grandfather. His love for the Lord was something he spoke about often and we know he’s rejoicing in heaven with his wife, Sandra.
George is survived by his three daughters, Sherry (Alex) Schott, Wendy (Dennis) Wright, and Lisa (Steve Schwandt) Wright; three grandchildren, Nathan Schott, Lauren Schott, and Bethany Wright; brothers, John (Mary Ellen) Wright, Fred (Vicki) Wright, niece, Katherine Wright, and late nephew, Johnny Wright. George is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sandra Wright.
