John Thomas Zimmerman, 78, of Aurora, passed away November 7, 2018.

He was born February 28, 1940 in South Gate, California, the son of John and Barbara (Miller) Zimmerman. He was a graduate of Cherry Creek High School. On February 27, 1960 he married his high school sweetheart, Gwen Bittick, in Denver, Colorado.

Growing up, John was involved with 4H showing cattle and raising guinea pigs. John worked for Texaco as an attendant for many years followed by 30 plus years at Industrial Textiles. Later in life, he was a member of the High Country CB Radio Club. John was very active with his church; he taught Sunday School for high school boys, served as Trustee for approximately 10 years and served as Deacon for 23 years. He was on the Missions Committee and communicated with most of the missionaries

John is survived by his four children, Donell (Gary) White, Anita Durham, Terry (Linda) Zimmerman, and Ricky (Darlene) Zimmerman; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Cisco) Gray-Luevano, Samuel Zimmerman, Tabitha Zimmerman, Zach Zimmerman, Marvin (Jenny) White, Jacob White, Sr., and Natasha (Aaron) White-Partridge; ten great-grandchildren, Isaiah Gray, Jasmine Gray, Arianna Luevano, Sebastian Zimmerman, Savannah Shumway, Jacob White, Jr., Alexis White, Xavier White, Cameron White, and Emilee Simain; and brothers-in-law, Ron Bittick and Willard Solomon. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gwen L. Zimmerman and parents, John Melvin and Barbara Zimmerman; and sister, Barbara Solomon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Airport Boulevard Baptist Church Missions Fund.
