She was born May 3, 1934 in San Antonio, Colorado, the daughter of Edumenio and Andronica (Duran) Martinez.
Ruth volunteered for HeadStart. She was also a part of VFW Auxiliary in Commerce City.
Ruth loved listening to music, doing wordsearch puzzles. She also was a Master Chef and great baker. Ruth loved meeting people and chatting with anyone. Ruth loved to pray and learn more about God. She knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She also enjoyed talking about her adventures from growing up, leaving her little town of San Antonio, Colorado at the age of 14 for the Unknown. She was everyone's cheerleader and encouraged you when you were down. Ruth will be remembered for her strength and bravery in the face of her extended illness.
Ruth is survived by five children, Julie Martinez, Darlene Torres, Victoria Martinez, Geraldine Martinez and Randy Martinez; four grandchildren, Angela Salazar, Richard Torres, Tina Seaton and Taylor Torres; three great-grandchildren, Brittany Salazar, Zack Salazar and Persephone Seaton; great-great-grandchild, Ella Rae Salazar-Sandoval; two sisters, Ida McElhaney and Maryellen Rendon and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by husband, Ernest Orlando Martinez; daughter, Yolanda Martinez; father, Edumenio Martinez; mother, Andronica Martinez, and many brothers and sisters.
