Norma was born December 8, 1936 in Palacios, Texas to the union of Leta Leno (Martinez) and Roosevelt Hope. She was the second child of seven children: three sisters, Shirley F. Duncan, Josephine Leali, and Armie Jewel Gaskin; three brothers, Delano R. Leonard and Andy Bob (Danny Boy) Hope. Her family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1946. She attended Denver Public School.

Norma was the proud mother of nine children. Terry Michael Hope, Robin Mitchell Cook, Mary Olivia and James Lee Greer. She later met and married the love of her life Willie Hardin and to this union five children were born, Brenda Lee, William Daniel, Eric Jerome, JoLynn and Tina Zeola Hardin.

Norma was very smart, loved to read and would read anything, and when she was younger she loved to dance. She had a strut that was really something else. She was very protective of her siblings and her children, don’t mess with Norma’s family. She was an excellent cook and loved to cook, she was the first in the family to own a microwave and learned to cook almost anything in it. She made sure that her children and grand-children went to church.

She was a caregiver where she worked in a nursing home and private homes, she wasn’t afraid of work, even worked in the janitorial field. Last she was the manager of the 28th Ave. Laundromat and her customers just loved her. Finally after retiring she wanted to take care of her grandchildren, they all called her “Granny.”

Those who precede her in death are, her parents, husband Willie Hardin, one sister Shirley Duncan, three brothers, Delano R., Leonard and Andy B. Hope, he great grand son Tyler Lamont Greer.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children; sons, Elder Terry (Trena) Hope of Bakersfield, CA, Robin M. “Rob” Cook, James L. “Chuckie” Greer, William D. (Danny) Hardin and Eric J. (Ricky) Hardin, all of Denver, CO; daughters, Mary O. Greer, Brenda L. (Arnold) Davis, JoLynn Hardin and Tina Z. Hardin. Her devoted Granddaughter and caregiver Sharita Hardin, all of Denver, CO. Two sisters, Josephine Leali and Armie Jewel Gaskin, one brother-in-law David Duncan two sisters-in-law, Jackie Hope and Rose Hope. 17 grandchildren, 50 great and 20 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
