Diana (DeeDee) Darchele Collier-Benson was born on September 10, 1970 in Denver, Colorado. Diana was the only child born to Alfred and Monica Gay Collier.
Diana was married once. To this union a beautiful daughter Mina Chantal Collier-Benson was born.
Diana received a formal education in the public school system graduating from Northglenn High School. During High school she participated in many activities, cheerleading, poms, played the flute in the marching band and twirled the baton and competed in many competitions throughout Colorado. She was also a Debutante. After graduation Diana's grandmother took her on a trip to Italy and Paris and then she lived with her grandmother in Israel for one month. When returning from Israel Diana furthered her education at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she continued her dance career and majored in Broadcasting Journalism while also minoring in African American Studies. During her second year of college Diana was an intern at Channel Nine News. She later changed her major to Business Administration.
Diana started her career as a project coordinator a Rocky Flats in Golden, Colorado. She was employed at Rocky Flats until she began working at REtech in 2005, a consulting firm where she was employed for thirteen years. She was truly adored by her co-workers
Diana was a hard worker and gave everything her all. She was very confident and always walked with her head high, not to mention her classic humor, her caring nature, her beautiful smile, wisdom and compassion. DeeDee's radiant personality would light up any room that she walked into. In her free time she enjoyed reading, dancing and watching her favorite movies and TV shows and spending quality time with her friends Janice Motis, Diana Sena and her father and her daughter Mina.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Monica Gay Collier.
Those left to cherish her memory include her father Alfred Collier, Broomfield, Colorado; her daughter Mina Collier-Benson; uncle Robert (Karla) Collier and a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
