In Memory Of
Barbara Jean Garcia
1946 - 2019

Barbara Jean Garcia, 73, of Commerce City, passed April 9, 2019 with her family at her side.

Barbara was born February 6, 1946 in Tioga, Colorado; the daughter of Oris and Ernestine (Montoya) Trujillo. Barbara grew up in Walsenburg, Colorado with two sisters and one brother. Barb graduated from Walsenburg High, Class of 1963. Barbara relocated to Denver, Colorado, where she went on to college and spent her life as a wonderful Mother and teacher of young children.

Barbara worked in Special Education as a Paraprofessional for over twenty years at Adams County School District 14. She loved working with her students, coworkers and teachers, whom were to become great friends in her life for many years. These gifts gave her great joy as she cherished the love of teaching and sharing with her peers and friends.

In her younger years Barb very much loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and auto shows. She especially enjoyed baking her own homemade goodies for her family. She also loved tending her garden, crocheting, reading and sharing a lunch date with her friends. Above all else, Barbara loved her family, nieces, nephews and those companions so very close to her.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Robin Salazar, and Taryn Garcia; and her husband, Ted Garcia. God-son Frank Trujillo, and niece Ranee Sandoval. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Oris and Ernestine Trujillo; and two sisters, Phyllis Trujillo and Annette Trujillo.
