Julius "Rock" Hudson, Jr., 88, of Denver, passed away May 5, 2019.

He was born May 4, 1931 in Greenville, Mississippi, the son of Julius and Iva (Shelby) Hudson. He was a graduate of Geeter High School in Memphis, Tennessee.

Julius “Rock” Hudson came to Colorado in 1969 with his young family as a member of the Air Force and was stationed at The Finance Center in Denver. After serving over 20 years in the Air Force, Rock opened his family business, “Cafe Bar B Que“ in Aurora. He ran the business successfully for over 10 years and was even voted the best BBQ in Aurora for multiple years. Rock became a member of many organizations after coming to Colorado and became a leader in his community. As a member of TREA (The Retired Enlisted Association) and the Lions Club of Colorado, he led his fellow members in many successful community engagements in giving back to the community. Rock was also an avid golfer and bowler and shared the love of the games with his children. Rock was a prosperous man. He was wealthy with great family, friends and positive influence in the community.

Rock is survived by his son, Troy Julius (Susan) Hudson; daughters, Eraina Hudson, Danielle Jade (Don) Harper, and Nicole I. Bailey; grandchildren, Wyakie G. Hudson, Maguel A. (Paris) Hudson, Derek E. Hudson, Kimberly Hudson, Marc Hudson, Matthew D. Hudson, Alicia Hudson, Anita Hudson, Renee S. Hudson, Lauren Bailey, Naleigh S. Harper, Cadence A. Harper, and Osiris J. Harper; great-grandchildren, Shakur, Yariah, Ladraye, Maguel, Jr., Ledavion, Nyimah, Lil' Anthony, Mario, Maliah, Matthew, Mariah, and Luka; sister, Mary Ann Ware and Henry Lou Doudy; and brothers, Willie Hudson, Richard Hudson, and Joseph Hudson.

He is preceded in death by his father, Julius Hudson, Sr. and mother, Iva Hudson; sons, Glenn Hudson, Dwayne O. Hudson, Kenneth E. Wilkins; sister, Geraldine Gales; and brothers, Carl Hudson, Alphonse Hudson, Maurice Hudson, and Billie Hudson.
