In Memory Of
Eugene Patrick "Gene" Fitzsimmons
1959 - 2019
Gene was born May 3, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Edward and Charlotte (Krubl) Fitzsimmons.
Gene graduated from Cherry Creek High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy, he was an Aviation Machinist Mate on F-14's, Avionics and Aerospace Engineer. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he received his Associate Degree from Community College of Denver as a Neuro Diagnostics Specialist.
Gene was very involved in Sheldon's hockey and also coached, mentored and taught hockey and baseball. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, shooting and mountain climbing. Gene and his brother Don climbed half of the fifty-eight 14ers in Colorado. He loved tinkering in his gardens and cooking some great meals. He was an avid bowler at Celebrity Lanes and played for hours on end. He spent time playing baseball and hockey with his boys. Whatever he was doing he certainly was listening to music and going to concerts. Most of all, Gene loved his family and friends.
Gene is survived by Sons, Sheldon, Michael and Shannon; Brother and Sister, Don and Colleen (Jeff Kaplan); long time Companion Paula DeLage; the Mother of his sons, Beth Wells; Grandchildren, Austin and Talen; Nephews, Tim (Amanda) Nye, Chad (Meghan) Kaplan; Nieces, Stephanie (Caleb) Floyd, Ginette (Chad) Kimball, Heather(Matt) Depue; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by Father, Edward Fitzsimmons and Mother, Diane Fitzsimmons.
