Jack Willard Sauder, 93 of Wheat Ridge, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Jack was born in Chappell, Nebraska on April 11, 1926 to Michael and Mabel (Holtman) Sauder. The eldest of eight sons, he attended grades 1 through 8 at country school - Sunny Side District #39, Lodgepole, Nebraska. Between grades 8 and 9 he helped the family move to a new home northeast of Chappell, Nebraska. He attended Deuel County High School at Chappell, Nebraska until January 1945 when he was drafted into the United States Army. His Basic training was at Camp Hood, Texas. After training he was sent overseas to Japan. The war was ending while en route, so he was transferred to a Signal Corp unit in Manila, Philippines, to serve in the African Western Pacific.

After 21 months he was discharged and returned home to Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and received his B.S. degree in Agriculture. He married Sharon Lee Kemper on October 1, 1950, and they had four children; Barbara, Nancy, Andrew and James.

He moved to Sedgwick, Colorado where he farmed for 12 years. He worked for Waddell & Reed for two years, divorced, and went back to school at Colorado State University for one year to get a teaching certificate. He married Veva Doughty of Brush, Colorado in 1965. She preceded him in death January 28, 2017.

He taught Vo-Ag (FFA) at Imperial, Nebraska for seven years. He taught Vocation Auto Mechanics at Plattsmouth, Nebraska for nineteen years. Jack took great pride in the work that he and his students completed as several of their projects competed at the state level in FFA and Auto Mechanics.

In March 2001, Jack and Veva moved to Torrington, Wyoming. To commemorate his years of service in the military, the 2010 Wyoming Honor Flight trip to Washington, DC was a great honor for Jack.
