James Robert Fauber, Jr. was the 3rd child of James Robert Fauber, Sr. and Betty Lou Fauber born into the family of five on July 29, 1959 in Ozona, Texas. Jim was always a happy baby. Grandma Mary Fauber would set Jim in the middle of the dining room table and let Jim marvel at all of us surrounding him while eating our meals. Jim was a good baby. And as Jim grew up, an even grander Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Brother-in-Law, Uncle, and Friend.
Newspaper routes and concrete work kept Jim enthused in his younger years. Jim was always interested, though, in taking things apart. Seldom were there left over parts, unless purposely. He would disassemble multiple bicycles and build the strongest bike out of all of them. He was quite the self-trained mechanic and induced his talents on all of the vehicles he could anxiously join with his tools. His brilliant mind eventually lead him to diesel engines. As a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp, Jim worked on the military fleets as an advanced automotive maintenance mechanic while being stationed in Oceanside, California and Okinawa, Japan.
As his years of the Marine Corp were completed, Jim endured another master skill of garage door installations. This skill lead to 35 years as a garage door technician in both the commercial and residential fields. Jim's artistic knowledge can be seen at such locations as the Denver Zoo, Pepsi Center, Lockheed Martin, Denver Water, Rocky Flats, Rocky Mountain Arsenal and several others. The door industry is an intensive labor that required the exhausting dedicated talent Jim gave tirelessly. Resting on 35-foot ladders and balancing door sections is a painful sacrifice that Jim gave notoriously. His works are well known from the Colorado plains to the mountains, and from the north to the south. Jim has a legacy reputation that will forever proceed him.
Everywhere Jim went, he made a new friend. This became so true when he adopted his new and forever friend, Champagne. Jim rescued Champagne from a shelter. They saved one another's lives and made each other's day complete with endless love and companionship.
Jim was always excited to hear the latest of his Grandchildren's experiences and hobbies. Born to daughter, Cassandra Jo Fauber of New Jersey, are Lilyan, Maximus, and Skye. The babes are Jim's triangle of stars. Everytime there was any mention of his Grandchildren, Jim always had brilliant stars in his eyes to match his ear to ear smile. He loved his Grandchildren so much with tearful sincerity.
Jim also has two sons. James Robert Fauber, III of WheatRidge is a master of many skills in the garage door industry, plumbing, heating/air conditioning, and mechanic. Nathaniel Lee Fauber of Northglenn is in business for himself.
Fishing or lying near the bank, camping, HotRod magazines, collector car restorations, western movies, reading Louis L'Amour novels and Stephen King, and just plain good conversations were some of Jim's favorite hobbies. Chucky Cheese will always be 'Christmas in July'.
