Danielle Francis Hefferan
April 10, 1990 – August 24, 2019

Danielle was born in Haverhill, MA; she was the second child of Jennifer (Thurston) and Rich Hefferan. She grew up in Gypsum and Eagle with her parents, sisters Rachael and Colleen and brother Richie. Danielle, “Dani” as she was known to family and friends, was a 2008 Eagle Valley High School graduate.

Danielle will be remembered for her caring and compassion and her love of animals. She was drawn to all dogs and fondly compared them to her special family pets Copper and Oscar. Dani was also a passionate artist. She enjoyed creating Pottery, Jewelry and especially drawing and painting. She would spend hours studying and focusing to get her art just the way she wanted it. She loved spending time with her family - fishing, cooking, collecting recipes, knitting, camping and socializing.

Her laughter, quirky sense of humor and positive outlook on life will be deeply missed. She taught those around her so much while she was here. She found joy and humor in life all around her. Danielle was an independent, caring, and peaceful woman who loved music and cared deeply for those around her.

Danielle is preceded in death by her Paternal Grandparents Richard Francis Hefferan, Sr. and Catherine E. Hefferan. Danielle is survived by her parents Richard Francis Hefferan, Jr. and Jennifer Thurston Hefferan, her siblings Rachael Hefferan (Sean Squires) and their sons Jameson and Riley of Gypsum, CO , Colleen Hefferan (Brice Ward) of Durango, CO and Richie Hefferan, of Eagle, CO, Maternal Grandparents Charles Daniel Thurston and Roberta Grant Thurston of St. Johnsbury, VT, Aunts and Uncles: Steve and Sandy Thurston, Doug and Karen Thurston, Terence Thurston, Kathleen (Thurston) and Mike Johnston, Sara Thurston McNeil, Tim and Julie Hefferan, Tom and Mary Hefferan, John and Lauren Hefferan and cousins Charlie Thurston, Derek, Kyle, Davis and Kelsie Thurston, Sam and Ben Thurston, Christopher and Patrick Hefferan, Elizabeth, Katie, Mary and Meghan Hefferan, Callie and Paige Hefferan and extended family and friends.

Dani was born with a rare genetic disorder that she did not let define her. Danielle bravely fought for her life and her courage and strength were an inspiration for others. For those who would like to further understand her disorder see PWSAUSA.org to read about Prader-Willi Syndrome. Danielle left us peacefully, while listening to Bob Marley and wrapped in her favorite cozy dog and cat quilt with her loving mother by her side. A celebration of Dani’s life will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 11:00am at the home of family friends, Ken and Donna Smith, 417 Howard St., Eagle, CO.
