She moved to Denver, Colorado as a child with her 8 brothers and 6 sisters; Anthony, Mae, Lucile, John, Joe, Pearl Jr, Lea, Ida Fay, Lourene, Harold, Paul, Dale, Herbert, and Patty. Betty was the last living child in her family. She was also preceded in death by her son in law Dwight Fortune, and her three stepsons, William Wiseman, Donald Wiseman, and Robert Wiseman.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Peggy Jo Maestas and Leona P Fortune. Grandma Betty is also survived by her grandchildren, Donald Maestas Jr, Jesse Maestas, Lisa Maestas, Tammy Fortune, Brian Fortune, Kenny Wiseman, Yvonne Wiseman, and Katie Wiseman and their families. She also had two great-grandchildren, Kris Maestas and Sophia Maestas. She was also the loving Aunt Betty to her many nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.

Betty loved to spend time crocheting afghans and making quilts for her family and friends. She loved music and dancing and was more energetic than any of those around her. She was always the life of the party and could be counted on to bring fun and excitement wherever she went.
