Leathene “Peanut” Spencer, 87, of Aurora Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2019.
She was born September 10, 1932 to the late William M. Farrell and Lizzie T. Noyes. She had seven siblings: Pearly Noyes-Brown, Anne Jackendoff, Leona Perkins, Achsah Reynold, William “Billy’ Farrell Jr, Nancy Di Croche and Franklin “Frankie” Roosevelt Farrell.
She married Carl Spencer Sr on May 31, 1950 and had 5 children. She worked as a High Pressure Boiler Operator and Forklift Driver at Fosters, the town Mill, until her retirement. She provided caregiver assistance to the elders in her community in her spare time. She also enjoyed knitting mittens for charity. Most of all, she enjoyed the companionship of her beloved four-legged best friend, JJ Spencer.
She is survived by all of her children- Anne Smyser and her husband Walt of Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania, Carl Spencer Jr and his significant other Laurie Judware Stubbs of Mattawamkeag Maine, Jay Spencer and his spouse Lori of Steep Falls Maine, Sandra Paul and her spouse David of Aurora Colorado and Brent Spencer and his spouse Phyllis of Mattawamkeag Maine. She left behind several loving grand and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor in her hometown of Mattawamkeag Maine in the spring of 2020.
