Billy Nelson Hickman, 87, of Northglenn, Colorado died on Friday, November 15, 2019. He was born to the late Burie Nelson Hickman and Mabel Duvall in Roaring Springs, Texas on November 24, 1931.

Bill joined the US Navy on November 30, 1948 and served on the USS Chevalier. He was honorably discharged in November, 1952 with a final rank of Sonarman, Second Class. He received the Korean Service Medal and Ribbon (4 stars) and the United Nations Service Medal.

He married Charlotte Hickman in 1978 and enjoyed 41 years of blissful marriage.

Bill is survived by his wife, Charlotte Hickman and 3 three children, Cheryl Johnson (Bob), Dennis Zentner (Kathy) and Dennise Jenkins, all of Thornton. He is also survived by one grandchild, Garrett and numerous nieces and nephews in Colorado and Texas. He has one living sibling, Wayne Hickman (Virginia), of Colorado Springs, and is preceded in death by his parents and multiple brothers and sisters.

A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home at 901 S. Sheridan, starting at 10:30am on Monday, November 25, 2019. Funeral services follow at 11:30am with a reception immediately following. The service will conclude at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
