Tillie Barajas-Sanchez was born on March 10, 1925 in Michoacan, Mexico was raised in the mining town of Delagua, CO and spent her teenage years helping to raise her younger brothers.
She worked in housekeeping at the famous Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver for the majority of her life. Tillie loved to spend time with her family and was known for her tamales. Tillie also loved playing the slot machines and always had good luck.
Tillie is survived by her children, Richard (Jerri) Sanchez, Delilah (Herman) Ortiz, Gloria (Mauricio) Molina, and Rose Angie Sanchez; brothers, John Barajas, Joe Barajas, Vince Barajas, Lino Barajas, Mike Barajas, and Frank Barajas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph N. Sanchez; parents, Jose and Silveria Barajas; brothers, Max Barajas, Pete Barajas, Andrew Barajas, Rudy Barajas, Freelin Barajas; and sister, Sally Alvarez; sons, Filbert Sanchez, Gilbert Sanchez, Joey Sanchez, Louie Sanchez, and A.J. Sanchez; and recently her beloved grandson, Ernesto Garcia.
Following the graveside service, Tillie's family asks you to please join them for a reception at 398 S. Balsam Street, Lakewood, CO 80226 starting at 2:00pm.
