In Memory Of
Theodore Everett Putnam
1978 - 2020

Theodore “Ted” Everett Putnam of Aurora, Colorado, 41, passed peacefully from this life to the next on Sunday January 5th, 2020 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved wife and daughter at the time of his passing. The ninth child of thirteen, Ted was born on February 26, 1978 in Denver, Colorado. As a youth, Ted completed the requirements and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1993. He graduated from Ponderosa High School (Parker, CO) in 1996.

In 2000, he was married for time and all eternity in the Denver Temple to his beloved Azur Putnam (née Johnson). Together they were blessed with two children, Theodore Jay “TJ” and Julie Lynn Putnam, whom Ted loved wholeheartedly.

Ted enjoyed camping and being out in nature and especially scouting. He loved “cool rocks” and all things geology, which led him to obtain a Bachelor of Science Land Use degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Metropolitan State University in 2009. His knowledge helped him to have a successful career as a Construction Contract Supervisor for the City of Greenwood Village since 2012.

Ted’s greatest legacy will undoubtedly be his faithful service to the Lord in the multitude of capacities to which he was called. Most notably, Ted completed an honorable full time two year mission to the Spain Malaga Mission. He continued his dedicated religious service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with numerous church leadership offices, both in his home congregation and expanded area congregations, serving tirelessly to countless children, youth and adults in his local community. His love for his Savior Jesus Christ, was made manifest by the way he ministered to those around him, sharing his testimony of faith, encouraging others and using his talents to bless all he worked with. Ted was best known simply by how much he was always serving others.

His contagious wit, ready sense of humor and vivacious love of life will be missed by the many people he is survived by, namely: Wife, Azur Putnam; Son, TJ Putnam; Daughter, Julie Putnam; Parents, Ronald & Patsy Putnam; Parents in Law, William & Judy Johnson; Siblings, Robert (Tomoko) Putnam, Tamara (Harmon) Jensen, Richard (Barbara) Putnam, Donna (Dave) Cummings, Nancy (Sean) Slade, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Darren) Wilkinson, Becky (Dave) Groe, Jeanna (Richard) Burrill, Barbara (Brent) Petersen, Dave (Jeanne) Putnam, KaraLynne (Andrew) Mackrory, Tiffany (Chris) Winters, Eric (Shaunna) Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Nathan (Amelia) Johnson, Stephen Johnson; & numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and praise for the many dedicated doctors, nurses, hospice care staff and others who helped care for Ted since he was first diagnosed in May of 2018. Your expertise and consideration was invaluable and deeply felt.

Love you Ted, pass it on.
