He quit in the 11th grade and got his GED. He was in the Naval reserves and was later drafted to the Army where he spent time in Korea. Chuck married the love of his life, Linda Sticksel, in December of 1959. They had six children Ann, Ruth, Joe, Paul, John, and Dan, and the family lived in Glendale before moving to Aurora in the 1970s. Chuck retired as a Cabinet Maker at age 58 and kept himself busy with his family, friends, and hobbies throughout his retirement.
