Dorothy was born to Mildred and Ludwig Gogle on September 24, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York. She worked as a timekeeper for Douglas Aircraft and a checker for several grocery store chains before retiring in Lakewood, Colorado.
Dorothy married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Simons, in 1943 and together they raised five children, Cheryl, Robert Jr., Stephanie, Suzanne, and Cynthia while living in New York, California, Nevada, and Colorado.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Dorothy also held an unwavering faith in God and the Catholic church. She was the kind of person who always saw the best in people and was always there to help.
Dorothy joins her parents and step-father, Simon Barney; husband, Robert Simons; son, Robert Jr.; daughter, Stephanie Martin; and grandson, Joe Dorsett Jr. in Heaven.
She is survived by three daughters, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Her surviving children are Cheryl Houston, Warsaw, Missouri; Suzanne Booth, Elizabeth, Colorado; and Cynthia Fortunato, Arvada, Colorado.
A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Lakewood, Colorado on Thursday, January 30th at 9:AM followed by burial at Fort Logan cemetery.
