Dorothy Jane May

Dorothy May, 98, of Denver died Friday, February 14. Dorothy graduated from Manual High School in 1939. She married Charles May on April 9, 1942 in Kimball, Nebraska while Chuck was on leave from the Army. While Chuck served in the Army, they lived in New York, California, Washington and North Carolina.

Dorothy loved to read and travel. As a family, they visited almost every state, as well as Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Her favorite place in the world, however, was Hawaii. They vacationed there so many times they lost track of how often they visited.

Dorothy is survived by her three children: Charles W. May, Stephen May, and Sharon Schneider. She is survived by 8 grandchildren: Janelle, Brittany, Chandra, Elisa, Andrea, Malia, Garland, and Spencer. She is survived by 7 great-grandchildren: Lila Michaela, Wyatt, Courtney & Remington, Miranda, Kiara and Enzo.

Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Lakewood on Friday, February 28th, 2020, at 1:00 pm. To send condolences or leave a message for the family, please visit NewcomerDenver.com. There will be no viewing or burial ceremony.
