Virginia Lee Fisher
1940 - 2020

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Virginia “Ginger” Lee Fisher, January 17, 1940 – February 21, 2020. Ginger was born in Big Spring, Texas where she attended school to the 8th grade. She was extremely proud to be a Texan! Many of her family members moved to Denver where she soon followed them in the 1950’s. She made Denver her home where she began to raise her own family. Ginger was full of life she enjoyed laughing and dancing all the while being with family and friends. She was a life long Elvis Presley Fan. On August 30, 1973 Ginger married her one true love Robert D. Fisher. Ginger enjoyed being a homemaker and mother! She always found the positive in life. She spent many hours cooking for her family and the holidays were her favorite time of year. Unfortunately, Ginger had health problems. In March of 2016, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. At that time, she became a Compassus Hospices patient. Amazingly, she flourished into an even more loving human being with the kindest of hearts and with the most loving touch. She no longer had the pain that was throughout most of her body. Everyone who encountered Ginger would find her story telling and laughter infectious. Ginger was an affectionate human being. She will be missed dearly by family and friends. Ginger is proceeded in death by her husband Robert D. Fisher, her sister Barbara Bernstein, and her Brother Leland Ball. Her surviving family members are her sister Vada Pittman, her three daughters, Sherri L. Velten, Malea R. Ellison, and Joyce M. Spinner, her step daughter Vicky Hunter and step son Rolla Fisher. Ginger had four grandchildren, with nine great grandchildren all of whom she loved unconditionally. She also cherished her niece, Jo Anna Wade. Ginger’s funeral will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home located at 901 S. Sheridan Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80226. On March 10, 2020 family and friend may gather to pay their respects at 10:00am. A short ceremony will begin at 11:00am and at 1:00pm final services will be held at Fort Logan Cemetery.
