Velvet Kay Larson Mines, born December 10, 1961 in Minot, North Dakota, passed away on March 23, 2020 at Swedish hospital in Englewood, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her father Melvin Larson and her younger sister Shonnie Perlichek - Carlsrud. Velvet graduated from Donnybrook High School in 1981. She worked at various cafe's in Kinmare including the pizza hub. She moved to Colorado in 1984 where she met her husband Kevin Idus Mines. they were married in Donnybrook on June 21, 1986. She is survived by her husband of 34 years and two sons, Staff Sargent Tyler & Anne Mines, grandchildren Braylen, Hunter and Avalynn, Son Ryan Mines ( Megan Donahue) grandchildren Alexis, Jaxon and Axel.

She worked at first trust for 25 years, until they down sized, then she worked at the medical center of Aurora for several years. She was very active in scouts with her boys and with her grandchildren. She was also very active in her church and helped furnish meals for the homeless. She spend her last few years taking her grandchildren camping. Also did errands for many people by house sitting, dog sitting, household chores and giving people rides to Dr. appointments.

She enjoyed doing scrap booking and joined a small group of ladies that also enjoyed the hobby. She and Kevin took various trips with family and friends during their 34 years of marriage. She was a very good cook and would treat Kevin’s co-workers with breakfast burritos on more than one occasion She was always giving a helping hand to family and friends alike. She enjoyed gardening and shared her bounty with the neighbors. She will be missed by all she met. We all wish her peace in her heavenly home.
