“God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around him and whispered, come with me. With tearful eyes we watched him suffer and saw him fade away. Although, we loved him dearly we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating; hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us. He only takes the best”.

On September 17th 1942, Harvey A. Morgan was born in Denver, Colorado to Reverend Benjamin D. Morgan and Leola Morgan (Downing). Harvey was the youngest son out of five siblings (Benjamin Jr., Donald, Roy, and Donna), with two older brothers from a previous marriage (John and James Morgan). He attended Whittier Grade School, Cole Junior High School and Manuel High School. After graduation, he had several careers that included: Postal Clerk, Taxi Driver, Air Traffic Controller, and a District Manager for the Denver Post before retirement. Harvey has always been a dedicated and devoted servant for the Lord since youth. Harvey served as a Board Member at Antioch Baptist Church (founded by his father). He became a Deacon and sang in the church choir. Most Saturdays he donated his time maintaining the church grounds.

In 1963, Harvey married Ernestine (Allen). In this union, three beautiful daughters were born: Pamela, Stephanie, and Nichelle. He was a loving and devoted husband and father; he cared and provided for his family. On April 17th 1982, Ernestine preceded him in death. In 1991, he wed Rhonda Fay (Smith). Within this marriage, he gained two sons: Travis and Dominic Smith.

Harvey was a faithful believer in Christ and he dedicated time each day to the reading of the scriptures. When he was asked for his advice or for guidance, he would give a positive response and he would always encourage people to pray and to have faith.

Harvey and Rhonda enjoyed family gatherings and welcomed many people into their home for celebrations. He loved attending various events for his grandkids and great-grandkids. In addition, he enjoyed watching a variety of sports on T.V. Traveling was another activity he enjoyed.
