Helen Dorothy McHugh
1922 - 2020

Helen Dorothy McHugh, 98 of Westminster CO. passed away at her daughters home on the morning of July 7th, 2020. She was born May 10th, 1922 in Firestone CO. in their small family home.

Otherwise very healthy, Helen took a fall on May 20th, just 10 days after her 98th birthday celebration and broke her right hip. Not wanting corrective surgery, she chose to go home on hospice care and the care of her loving family until she passed in peace a short 47 days later.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dominic and Asunta Onorato, husband Vincent J. McHugh Sr., sisters Lucille, Marie and Lorraine, brothers Anthony and Dominic, granddaughter Kristin M. High and daughter Rita K. Davis.

Helen is survived by her children Sandra Rimbey, Diane Bantz, Edward McHugh, Vincent McHugh Jr., Connie High and their families including a gaggle of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as several extended family members.

Helen started her career working in packing houses at age 14 and retired at age 67 after 47 dedicated and honorable years at Sigman Meat Company.

She loved her family, dancing, word search puzzles, family events, peanut butter, helping people, sneaking food to her grand dogs and a good dirty joke. A true friend and loved by everyone, Helen will be deeply missed.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, August 9 at 10:30 am at Stonebrook Manor, 650 E. 124th Ave., Thornton CO 80241. Services will be followed by a Catered Gathering and due to the current local restrictions, please RSVP no later than August 1 to Diane or Connie. Remember to wear your mask and social distance.
